National expert John Johns to Talk About Plan to End Iraq War

What: General John Johns (US Army, Ret.) and 1st District Congressional candidate Chellie Pingree to speak about Iraq, national security and The Responsible Plan to End the War.

Background: General Johns will speak about why he feels the war needs to be brought to an end quickly and why it is important to elect Democrats like Pingree and others who have endorsed the Responsible Plan to Congress to make sure that happens.

General Johns was also a classmate of John McCain at the War College, and can talk about his view of Senator McCain and whether he is qualified to be President.

General John Johns is a respected national security expert who served 26 years as a combat arms officer before retiring as a Brigadier General. Johns also served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and went on to teach National Defense University (NDU.)

General Johns, along with retired General Paul Eaton, consulted on the writing of The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq, a comprehensive plan to get the US out of Iraq that Chellie Pingree and five other Congressional Candidates presented in March. Since then over 50 US House and Senate candidates have signed on, the Plan has been endorsed by 25,000 Americans and has been the subject of numerous national news stories, both in broadcast and print.
